The Scholastic Publishing Co. has a book on multicultural math. The
activities are meant for elementary aged children. It's a decent book,
but you may want to check authenticity of games and activities. As far
as math anxiety is concerned, I strongly suggest any materials made by
the big math guru Marilyn Burns. I have taken her workshop and use her
materials often. Her activities really address the meaning behind math
and she really makes it fun. My fourth graders can't wait to use the
manipulatives...yes...there are lots of little pieces to buy, but
they're usually available in toy stores. Please e-mail me for any math
help. David Rachlin
