House Bill 299 - an anti affirmative action bill modeled after a
similar proposition in California and House Bill 303 - an anti Indian bill
which includes language to do away with the Montana Indian Fee Waiver were
TABLED Tuesday, April 18, 1997 in the Montana Senate Judiciary Committee.

This action usually means that the bills are dead. It would be
highly unusual for a member who voted to table the bill bring the bill up
again for consideration with an amendment or that the bill be brought up
on the floor.

Thanks to all of you out there that passed on this information,
called, wrote, faxed, emailed and prayed on our Indian students' behalf.
