I am a French student in fourth year at the University of Tours. I am
preparing a paper (around a hundred pages) about the boarding schools
used as a means to assimilate the American Indians in the late 19th and
in the 1st part of the 20th centuries. Besides, I would like to draw up
some sort of appraisal about the results produced (i.e. assessing the
failure...), and most of all what schools for Indian children have
become in the 1980s and 1990s. I have read documents putting that
nowadays Indian people are deeply attached to schools, hence a
paradoxical attitude compare to 100 years ago.

Thus, if you could get me in touch with one or several educational
establishments (i.e. primary and secondary), it would really help.
Another very useful information and certainly the crucial one, deals
with the curriculum and statistics which reveal themselves very
difficult to be found in France.
I really hope that it will be possible for you to help me...

ps. (I was also thinking of the possibility of getting in touch with
Native American studients via Native american University IRC channels so
if you knew some , i would be glad if you sent them to me.)

yours faithfully.
