I know a very bright, promising, budding electrical engineer. His name
is Dustin Shelby, he's an enrolled member of the Confederated Salish &
Kootenai Tribe, he has a GPA of 3.8 (physics, chemistry, calculus,
computer science courses) and he graduates from high school this year.
Unfortunately, his folks work for a living and he doesn't qualify for any
need based assistance. I find it a terrifically terrible situation for
him............he's going to have to take out loans to get through school
this first year.
I have a kind of personal interest in Dustin, he was a participant in a
summer math & science camp we ran for middle school students. I feel bad,
cause he believed what we told him............that if he did good in
school, there would be help to get him through college. Does anyone out
there know of any merit based scholarships or opportunities (other than
AISES) for Dustin?
