To Henning Reibe in Germany,
Thanks for the reference on Sven Haakenson on the TV program regarding
Kodiak Island. Actually, I had seen the program a couple months
ago and had written him at the time; got ahold of him via Dept.
of Anthropology at Harvard. He referred me to Philomena Knecht,
I I had written to in the past but had received no reply. She and
others reportedly are working with K.A.N.A. (Kodiak Area Native
Association) on a number of language and culture projects, including
archaeology. I've heard nothing but good things about their
projects, although I do wish she had replied to my letter! Anyway,
yes, something does appareantly exist.
As an update, I've received about four replies to my earlier
message about sharing Native languages on HyuperCard. I'm
compiling them, and will post a synopisis back to the NAT-LANG
BBS in a few days.
