We use AskSam for Windows here at Syracuse University for a
"hypertext-like" storage of text files. It works similar to
Hyperesearch, but doesn't use - or translate - Hypercard stacks. I
deal with many faculty and grad students who've switched from Macs to
IBMs because our LAN is primarily IBM - askSam allows users to
construct a textual database, with no field restrictions like the 256
character restriction for most database fields. askSam for DOS is
another thing - more powerful, but more obtuse to manage.
