I am very much in favor with Greg Dubs' suggestion:

>There do not seem to be many postings from tribal academics or tribal
>linguists here, perhaps we need to discuss access to the internet by
>formal and informal tribal language commissions.

Has anyone worked with universities or other institutions on getting
internet accounts for tribal members who are not students or faculty?
I find that it is difficult enough to ask my friends and family to
*believe* that these computers are a great way to accomplish some good
work. How can they ever find this out without access?

As it is, what we are doing here is once again the toy of the
privileged. (A weighty introspection.)
