Learning Athabaskan languages

Someone recently posted a message asking for advice on learning Athabaskan
languages. I have studied (at an elementary level) Hupa and Navajo. From
discussions with others far more knowledgeable about these languages than I,
I have gathered that the horrors of the Athabaskan verbal system are equally
intimidating in all of the Athabaskan languages. My earnest advice is to
learn one spoken by people living near you! You're going to need help! But
they are beautiful, subtle and sublime languages, well worth the effort!
Good luck,
