Recently, I was thumbing through a book about radio broadcasts
when I noticed that Canadian domestic radio broadcasts in five
languages specifically to Northern Quebec. Four of these languages
(English French Cree and Inuktitut) I was familiar with, but the
last (attikameque) has got me completely stumped. I am presuming
that it, too, is a "Native Canadian" language but have been able to
find NO information about it whatsoever. "Attikameque" sounds like
a French term for the language: is there an equivalent English or
native term? Just who are these mysterious people?
