Thought I would finally introduce myself. I've been working around American
Indian languages for about 4 years, having started by digitizing 2 Cherokee
fonts (for sale, in addition to paying phone & Internet bills, they help
support work with other more endangered languages). I'm not a linguist, a
teacher, or an anthropologist, though. I _am_ an artist & computer
consultant.
Now that I'm on the Internet, one of my goals is to help Indian tribes &
nations to get there as well. Another of my general goals is to link up
people with the resources they need. This might mean helping someone
publish a curriculum catalog for language and publicize it so that tribal
members & others will know what's available. Or it could mean helping
locate grants & other funding sources, etc. Or it might mean tracking down
missionary records. (Some Jesuits, for example, documented some details of
the Osage language and perhaps that of other tribes.)
