I write to mourn and remember Gordon Robertson, who passed away January 22,
1995, in Prince Rupert. Gordon was a true rememberer, identified in his own
mind totally with the X*esduakw, the area of what is now called the Kitlope
Valley and Gardner Canal. He was born in Yamacisa (near Kemano) in 1904. He
dedicated many many hours in the last years of his life to recollecting and
helping to preserve the words and traditions of his people, the Henaaksiala
[X*enaksiala].
