Any information concerning Archie Phinney, Nez Perce, student of Franz
Boas and author of "Nez Perce Texts," who went on to teach in USSR and
later (1950's) returned to work for the BIA and the Nez Perce Tribe of
Idaho would be greatly appreciated.

Am primarily interested in biographical data. Does anyone know whether he
received his PhD from Columbia or "only" his master's.
