This character uses several Indian words on the episode "The Cloud":
nuanka (mourning?); pokattah (mana, elan vital?); akoonah (a very
specific psychoactive device for meeting your spirit guide); A-koo-
chee-moya (a tribal deity). I'd appreciate the provenance of these
terms, if any. I suspect that Chakotay is the heir to a syncretic
tradition. Some Apache and Amazonian, perhaps?
