Columbus was a brutal slave trader and murderer, and we should not
be honoring him anymore than we would any mass murderer or slave
trader. Read aboiut it in Howard Zin's People's History of the
United States. I still don't get what all the fuss is over a
little blood on the jerks' monument... this has been a tried and
true form of civil disobedience for at least 20 years. I'm
frustrated that this conference is getting so conservative.
