July 15 - July 30 1991, collective creative action: Intercontinental
Wall/Mural Commemoration "500 Years of Indigenous and Popular Resistance",
will be organized by each region (North America, Mesoamerica, Caribbean,
Andean and Amazon-La Plata). Link yourself with your regional chapter, and
if you do not have one start one. Let the network know what will you be
DOING to commemorate. An on-going intercontinental commemoration has started
at meetings in Colombia (1989), Ecuador (1990), and a forthcoming at
Guatemala (1991). We must consider the fact that Indigenous peoples exist
throughout the Continent. SAIIC, in particular, has been working on linking
Indigenous peoples with Indigenous peoples.
