On further thought about icon bashing we still think
that this is not only a valid act but is one that might
well be essential. If people worship false idols then those
idols must be unmasked if truth is to surface. this will
obviously create anxiety and fear and these will have to be
dealt with. this is one reason this is a complicated process
that requires considerable discussion before action is taken.
We feel that there is a tie-in with the icon-bashing and
the issues raised in Moyers' special that Gary wrote about.
we did not see the show so cannot comment. but we do believe
that spirituality is vital to our talks and to action. Our
personal relationship to our planet and all its lifeforms is
important and we need to think about how we treat all life.
