Regarding LISTSERV availability to all IBM Mainframe users ....

What about us who are at more "modern" facilities that use DECs rather
than IBM's?

Lyn

[ The commands indicated in the article I posted yesterday about the new
LISTSERV facility at TAMVM1 are available to all users of NativeNet.
Just send a message to the address "listserv@tamvm1.bitnet" containing
only the text "info ?" (no quotes) to get a list of documents that de-
scribe how the facility works. The other commands described in my
article of yesterday can be sent in mail messages to the same address.

The only advantage that users of IBM mainframe VM/CMS systems have is
that they don't have to send these commands in mail messages. They
can use interactive commands such as:

TELL LISTSERV AT TAMVM1 INFO ?
and
TELL LISTSERV AT TAMVM1 INDEX NATIVE-L

and will receive resulting output via Bitnet "network" files, rather
than as ordinary electronic mail.

I would like to encourage all users of NativeNet to try the new
facility, and to let me know what you think of it.
