One film I really liked was "Pow-Wow Highway".

Lee> 1) The obvious one: is the film sympathetic toward the Native people?

Yes, it is. The audience is moved to really appreciate the main
characters.

Lee> Does it portray them as human beings or filthy savages?

Definitely as human beings, with all the myriad emotions that life
provides.

Lee> 2) Does the film use actual Native actors?

Yes, it does.

Lee> 3) Is is accurate in its representation of Native life in terms of
Lee> dress, customs, living conditions etc.?

Very accurate. It was very realistic, and showed the integration of
traditional beliefs with the modern age in a very real way.

I hope this helps. Please make sure to send your results to
NativeNet-- this is a great idea!
