The Australian Aboriginal Community Aid Inc. group are making a
call for the donation of blankets to be sent to Aboriginal people
in remote parts of Australia. The temperature in Central Australia
can fall below 0 degrees celius during winter.
The A.A.C.A. are also seeking to establish a network of volunteers
to work towards overcoming the Fouth World conditions suffered by
Australia's First People. This practical level of self-help is
essential for the process of restoring balance in this living
continent.
Donations are also required.
VOLUNTEER NETWORK.
This Volunteer Network is designed to link up the time, energy,
and resources of sincere people who genuinely wish to see
Aboriginal people attain their basic human rights (e.g. clean
drinking water etc).
If the funded Government bodies set up to deliver these serices
were effective, Aboriginal people would no longer have a life
expectancy 20 years below the average non-Aboriginal Australians,
nor would half the Aboriginal people who live in remote areas
(after years of gewnerations of forces removal from their
traditional lands) be suffering kidney diseases from unclean
drinking water. These are Fourth World conditions in Australia's
backyard.
We require a dedicated team of volunteers, who are prepared to
accept guidance from Aboriginal decision-makers, to initiate the
process of change, which will help rectify the Fourth world
conditions suffered by people in this land.
