several important points are surfaced in this "dated" but most relevant
report. If one were to conduct even the most cursory of reviews of the
number of murders by the Lawrence "Police"; what they will find is a
disproportionate number of Indigenous citizens being murderd by the
"nearly all caucasian" LPD. Having lived in Lawrence and attended
HIJUCO I've experienced and witnessed what the report speaks to. In
1977 the same LPD burst in onto a scene in local tavern a shot to death
a Lakota who was accussed of robbing a convenience store. What the LPD
did through the media was to shift the attention of their violence to the
fabricated notions of the AIM's position for marching in the streets.

To Call for the resignation of the head of police department for the brutal
beatings of people of color (case in point black man/Cal. Cop, etc.); than
it is not unreasonable to call for the resignations of the LPD head and his/
her officers involved in this most recent murder of an Indigenous man. The
media must not limit its coverage of attacks on people of color to "beatings"
but must include adequate coverage and follow-up whenever there is a murder/
loss of life.

Much more needs to be said on this topic but I will need to cool off before
I become to incoherent.
