hi everyone ! i'm new to native-l, i've been reading the new postings
as well as going through the logfiles that are archived. i'm not sure
this is what i thought it would be, it seems to be more of a press
release relay system and very little actual communication. i'm looking
for some information and hope someone can help me.

my great-grandmother was a full-blooded indian, i've heard cherokee but
i'm not sure that information is accurate. how would i go about getting
more information ? also, i've heard that as long as you are 1/8 indian,
you can be certified as being native american. i'm interested in doing
that, i've always been proud of my indian blood, even if it isn't much.
does anyone know how i would go about proving my indian ancestors, and
who i would get in touch with concerning this ? or is my information
wrong ?

thanks for your time,
judy bayliss
