GREENPEACE

}s a recent note, mamia.uucp!peshe@mthvax.cs.miami.edu (Peshewegunzh) says:

>I'd be interested on finding out if Greenpeace has altered its stance
>against hunting in the North; it is unlikely to be an issue during its
>current tour of reserves located in close proximity to Canadian urban
>centres, where Canadian Indians live much the same consumer lifestyle as
>the nearby Europeans, purchasing food at supermarkets. Those reserves
>would likely find common ground with Greenpeace's opposition to toxic
>pollution of the local water supply as they rely on it even more than
>the Europeans.

I would like to add my own interest in learning about what Greenpeace
actually does on this tour. I have been sensing a swing away from direct
action by Greenpeace, to a "lobbying" approach. In the past, there would
have been Greenpeace divers blocking discharge pipes of toxic waste in
rivers; what will there be with this trip? Anyone who has info on this,
please post it.

Thanks.
