There is a good book by Ursula LeGuin that folks who are thinking
about deforestation of Earth might want to read: THE WORD FOR
WORLD IS FOREST. The story takes place in a future when Earth has
been stripped of all forests; other planets have been colonized
for their wood resources; the inhabitants of one of these planets
are beginning to resist the invaders; I won't say more....
