Vol. 1 Issue 3 PERESTROIKA July 1991
Newsletter of the North American Water Office

INDIGENOUS WOMAN

"Indigenous Woman" is a new publication of the Indigenous Women's
Network (IWN), a continental and Pacific network of women who are
actively working in their communities on a wide range of issues,
including political prisoners, land rights, environmental degradation,
domestic violence, health problems, cultural problems, and other
pressing concerns.

IWN was formed in 1985 in Yelm, Washington, and was a project of
NAWO until it received its independent tax status in June of 1991.
IWN's philosophy is to "work within the framework of the vision of our
elders." Through this process, it works to rebuild families,
communities, and nations. "Indigenous Woman" is available for a
subscription fee of $10.00 per year for two issues. For more
information, contact: IWN, P.O. Box 174, Lake Elmo, MN 55042.
