The North American Water Office is a 501(c)(3) corporation,
chartered in Minnesota with its office in Lake Elmo, MN.
It was originally started by George Crocker and his wife,
Leah Foushee. Its purpose is educational to promote
conservation and the welfare of indigenous people in North
America. George has been active all his life in grassroots
campaigns as draft resister during the Vietnam War and as an
organizer in the power line disputes in Minnesota and the
Dakotas. Leah is an American Indian, active in the
indigenous women's movement. My name is Bruce Drew, a
recently retired statistician, originally educated as a
chemical engineer. I still do some consulting in the
design of experiments for industrial clients, but my main
activity now is helping the Water Office in its efforts to
rationalize the way electrical utilities are regulated in
Minnesota, and perhaps elsewhere.
We have recently been instrumental in starting an
environmental coalition in Minnesota, Minnesotans for an
Energy Efficient Economy (ME3) which has similar objectives.
It is described in another topic in this conference.
