Native healers in hospitals

Hi, I have a friend who is doing research on participation of
native practitioners in American and Mexican medical facilities.
She is interested in finding out about any institutions that allow
and/or encourage native pratitioners (shamans, curanderos,
etcetera) to participate in patient health programs (including
psychiatric treatment.) Any information or reccomendations on
references would be appreciated as well.
