About the Lexus commercial... In the book "The Sacred Ways of the Lakota"
Wallace Black Elk, a Lakota shaman, used a tape recording when he couldnt
get a singer for a ceremony, the spirits dont seem to mind and come in just
the same. As a matter of fact, he likes science and technology (which is how
he refers to modern electronics) because, being a shaman, he says he works
with the original science and technology, so they dont oppose each other.
But it does get misused. I think the intentions have to be honorable, like
healing or help for the people. I doubt the spirits are actually fooled by
anything we do.
In any case I do like the singing when it comes on the TV, I ran into the
living room the other day when I heard it and was dissappointed to see it
was just a commercial. It is a very beautiful song and a good singer. If
they would just play more of the song I wouldnt mind looking at their silly
car! If anyone finds out more about the song and the singer please post!
