Excuse me Mr. May, but when I referred to the Navajo resisters (a term used
by the US government to describe those Navajos on HPL that have not signed
up for relocation benefits) as the most traditional Indians, I was not
comparing them to Hopi. You could compare the Navajo on HPL to Navajos in
Gallup or even Window Rock and determine that the Navajo resisters live a
traditional lifestyle that has been abandoned by other Navajos. That was
my point. It is very impressive to see this people live without electricity,
running water and other so called modern conveniences yet they live their lives
rich in spirituality. I am always impressed with how they view the world
and how the express themselves.
More later. I recently received the Government Accounting Office's report
on the Navajo/Hopi relocation commission and will excerpt it for nativenet
readers.
