Governor Thompson's plans have been revised, and his length of stay in
Europe (Poland and Austria) shortened:

Things have been going well here--building momentum in the legal fight against
mining near Lac Courte Oreilles, and nuclear waste storage at Prairie Island,
and the defeat of a proposal to name a highway after Columbus. A large
conference is planned for Oct 12 in Madison.

Luca Seradi (Soconas Incomindios) was instrumental in the highway victory by
testifying against the proposal--in Italian. A good example of the contribution
of
European supporters.
