FUND TO PROTECT SACRED SITES

The Aboriginal Custodians of the Dragonfly Dreaming and Carpet Snake
Dreaming near Wiluna, Western Australia, on the edge of the Western
Desert, are struggling to protect their sacred sites from being
destroyed by a huge nickel mine being dug by C.R.A. and Dominion
mines. We are having a great phone-around to raise thirty thousand
dollars for the legal costs to go to the WA Supreme Court in November.

The traditional law men and women have never been consulted and we
think there is a very good legal case. The Mutitjulu people from
Uluru say, "We have a strong law of Kuniya Tjukurrpa. We do not want
the western end of the song line destroyed at Jones Creek because it
would hurt the whole Tjukurrpa and hurt the law here at Uluru."

The old fellas have the WA Government, mining companies, politicians,
and media ganged up against them.

We are asking people on good wages to help with $100; people on lower
wages, $50; and unwaged, students, pensioners, unemployed $20.
