thanks to lyn dearborn for that interesting post.

i felt that i should add that the three sisters maize-squash-beans complex
was actually a late comer that ethnobotanists think diffused outwards from the
southwest @1,000 AD.

the agriculture it displaced was of sunflower, ragweed, chenopodium cultivation
