Some points are well taken, such as the destructive influence on
Indian families by the white educational system and society. Of that
there is no doubt.

However, pre-Columbian culture and society was hardly the feminist
utopia that ironically a western European feminist influenced political
movement would fantasize. Certainly, it was not as unnatural or bizarre
as the violent, increasingly pathological 20th century European "norm."
