I posted something on this many months ago. I don't know what reference
you have already seen, but one good source is Carl Waldman, _Atlas of
the North American Indian_ (1985; ISBN 0-87196-850-9). On page 108,
Waldman refers to a letter sent by Lord Jeffrey Amherst (commanding
general of British troops in 'america') to a Captain Simeon Ecuyer
about the use of smallpox blankets, which Ecuyer employed at Fort Pitt
(Pittsburgh).
