I am Norwegian, but he certainly does not speak for me. Respect is the last
thing that I feel for Christopher Columbus. How can Heyerdahl acknowledge
that no one "discovered" the Americas and emphasize the importance of
recognizing native peoples in this issue, and then turn around and praise
Columbus? It really bothers me that even when people recognize the fact that
Columbus' voyage should not be celebrated, they still view him as some kind
of hero.
