In regards to bandwidth, not everyone is blessed with a free link to the
Internet. Realistically, when you have sites on a tight budget which are
linked through fairly slow modems (2400), the cost of long distance
telephone bills may become prohibitive, especially if what they might
consider the signal-to-noise ratio to be low.

Let me emphasize that this may not be a concern for the present list, but
it would become increasingly so for one that would have significant
reservation or community service participation or orientation.

[ You're right, of course. Well, we'll have to continue thinking this one
through. As for the reservation and community service sites, I'm thinking
they would want their own separate service, and I'm beginning to talk with
people about that idea, including some here in the Boston area. Anyone
interested in helping on this project in any way should contact me. --Gary ]
