I don't blame you for being confused. First of all, David claims that
this organization speaks for all "Sioux" people. Sorry, but I disagree
there. I have friends out in Rapid City, and Pine Ridge who do not
follow this group that has broken away. And I'm sure there are many
other people who do not follow this group's beliefs. It's really not
possible for others to speak for others, unless sanctioned to do so,
IMHO.
Secondly, you are right. The majority of Lakota people approved of the
film Dances With Wolves, since many local people were on location when
the movie was being shot. Of course, there will always be other who
will not like what they saw on the big screen, but you can't please
everyone.
