I am hopeful that there will soon be some action on the language list but I am
certainly not qualified to even attempt to help moderate it. I am lucky if I
successfully get into e-mail on the first try. I am learning Ojibway, however,
and would be thrilled to write to others doing the same. Our class is very
small and emphasizes practical use of the language versus a traditional
linguistic approach found at many universities. I saw Gary's name at the
beginning of Black Robe but didn't catch his role in the production. Was it as
a language consultant? Just curious. If there is anything a virtual computer
ignoramus can do to help with the language list let me know. The flesh is
willing but the computer skills are weak.

[ I had no role in Black Robe. In fact, it's only now, with Ted Jojola's
and Mary's articles that I even heard of the film. I'll be looking
forward to seeing it and to reading reviews by NativeNet subscribers.
I'll take a look to see if it's been reviewed yet on Usenet, and, if
so, I'll relay whatever I find as articles to this list.

Concerning the language list, it appears we may have found a moderator.
I'll give further details as we go along. --Gary ]
