AMERICAN INDIANS AND THE LAW: AN INTERDISCIPLINARY CONFERENCE

April 9 & 10, 1992
Northern Arizona University
Flagstaff, AZ

This conference will bring together scholars, professionals, and
private citizens interested in issues relating to American Indians
and the Law. The conference will provide an open forum for sharing
information and experiences. If you are interested in organizing a
panel or roundtable discussion, presenting a paper, or conducting a
workshop, please submit a brief statement detailing the way in which
you would like to participate and your specific area(s) of interest.
Formal papers will be considered for inclusion in an edited volume on
American Indians and the Law.

Possible themes for panels or workshops include, but are not limited
to:

Relocation--Big Mountain Water/Land Rights
Religious practices and the law Treaties
Tribal Gvt, BIA and the People Jurisdictional issues
Law enforcement on the reservation Intertribal council
Crime on the reservation Economic development
Intertribal conflict Toxic Waste
Indian vs. White Justice Sovereignty Rights

We welcome submissions on additional topics.

Please submit proposals by January 15, 1992.
