You may be interested in some of the "real" Hawaiian stuff over there, too.
Check out the Honolulu phone book (I no longer have any current stuff) for
the King Kamehameha school, the University Hawaii-Manoa which has an exchange/
articulation agreement with Heritage College in Washington State (which is,
last I heard 25% Yakima) and try the whole island city bus route for about
$1. The far side of Oahu is not the same as Honolulu, and was a beautiful
place. You can get on and off, and it does by-pass most of the tourist stuff -
eventually.
