Indigenous Science

I would like to learn more about the concept of "indigenous science".
That very combination of words may be in conflict, but I'd like some
references to works respected by members of NATVE-L that discuss the
concepts of observation, meaning, theory, and fact relative to domains
that are now considered to be science, e.g., astronomy, biology,
chemistry, physics, materials science, etc.
