Dear Mr Tichner,
I enclose a copy of my letter to the Prime Minister, Mr Keating,
regarding the forceful eviction of Aboriginal people from the
former Parliament House in Canberra.
The action of the Keating government, in my opinion, will do major
damage to the process of reconciliation.
Immediate steps should be taken to reverse the damage. You have
come across as being a Minister of Aboriginal Affairs who is
firmly committed to the process of reconciliation.
As the substitute representative for the Aboriginal people in the
Anglo-Australian Westminster system, a clear statement is expected
from you condemning the eviction and arrest of the protesters.
