hi again.
Peshewegunzh has clarified an earlier statement, that all anthropologists
should be told where to go. I whole-heartedly agree that if an ethnographer
is being high-handed or demeaning to the community, they should be told to
pack up, and _should_ put their tail between their legs and leave.
However, where we seem to disagree is that I feel each person should
be judged on their own merits and not simply as a category. This is the
reason (justified or not) that some have called Peshewegunzh a 'racist.'
As to how a person can help, my view is that one should simply
volunteer one's efforts to the community and let them decide what you
can do for them. As people have pointed out on this list, it is out of
line for an outsider to decide what is or is not best for a community.
