I thought I'd get this out before I leave on my looong vacation.
The info is Southwest-oriented, and I apologize for not having more
addresses for other areas. However, I do know that in Montana
either the Northern Cheyenne reservation or the Crow reservation or
a co-op between the two exists and sells beaded leather handbags
among other things.

I have bought things from the mail order places listed in B and was
pleased. I also visited all three places, regretting only my
intrusion into Zuni. They aren't really set up for visitors. As
for the Hopi guild, they and the nearby lodge and tourist center do
welcome visitors, even if not all Hopis do. The Pueblo Cultural
Center was a wonderful museum and the gift shop was sprawling.
There is also good pottery to be had at the Grand Canyon, and the
lesser known north rim of the Grand Canyon as well as Taos in
New Mexico. There is also an incredible Navajo co-op in Window
Rock, Arizona, but alas, they don't do mail order, last I heard.

(Gee, thinking about Arizona and New Mexico almost makes me wish I
were vacationing in the Southwest instead of Paris.... Nah!)

Finally, if anyone is interested in a particular reservation, you
can always write or call the tribal council and they may be able to
connect you with some local artisans.

The Blackfoot Writing Company in Montana could probably be reached
in the same way.

Happy buying!
