CALL CHAREST DAY
Thursday, April 2nd, 1992

(Sorry for the short notice, this has just come to my
attention - Dave. If you can't call today please try
shortly.)

Many of you will have heard of the dam project nearly finished on
the Oldman River upstream from the Peigan. You may also be aware
of the Supreme Court of Canada's mid-Winter decision requiring a
licence, and ordering an environmental assessment and review.
Spring is almost here.

Diane Pachel at the Alberta Wilderness Association
writes (March 18):

>Spring run-off starts within two week, no safety plan is in
>place, and the RMP have just moved onto the reserve, including
>the RCMP detachment from Pincher Creek, Alberta onto the
>reserve.
