The Camp Crier
by Bernard "Bunk" Peoples
Although I haven't been able to thank each of you personally, on
behalf of the Sovereignty Organizing Committee, I'd like to express
our sincere thanks and appreciation for any monetary contributions
and pledges of support. You can take comfort in the fact that you
have helped in writing a new page in the annals of history. Much
still needs to be done and it is going to require our continued
effort.
The U.S. claimed territory without knowing the extent or
consideration of the rights of the indigenous inhabitants of this
continent. A DE-NATIONALIZATION policy was put into effect with the
formation of the Constitution with subsequent legislation and
interpretation by the Supreme Court used to justify use of force of
arms to implement establish decisions as defined. The larger
country, then reduced, agreed to and defined boundaries of
individual countries with treaties made. No other agreement was
made other than the 1868 treaty, which was the last treaty made
between the U.S. and the Sioux Nation, agreeing to the cessation or
annexation of Indian lands to the U.S.A. The 1871 Appropriations
Act is a flagrant default to this agreement breaching the original
contract or agreement. Therefore, it is our contention that all
subsequent not-withstanding legislation authority and jurisdiction
reverts to the original terms and conditions of the 1868 treaty
ewith the Sioux Nations of Indians, which is consistent with the
premise of contention, presents the mandate to re-nationalize.
The purpose of this appointment of the executive staff of the
Lakota Nation's National Provisional Government is to perform the
function of principal negotiators to bring the national government,
boundaries, and jurisdiction back into being. Those requesting
passports and citizenship, etc., will be contacted at the
appropriate time pursuant to negotiations.
We are, first and foremost, proposing the prevention of further
destruction of the earth and the preservation and protection of
human and political rights. The Great Mystery works in mysterious
ways, that by its very nature, cannot be comprehended. Unless any
endeavor is firstly based on the spiritual considerations,
addressing all the needs of all the people, the results will prove
to be seen and experienced as detrimental. I'll let you, the
reader, be the judge of who and what that is. Surely, it can't be
denied that the Great Mystery recognizes anyone who desires to
abide by natural laws of the Earth. Truth always prevails and as
that is self-evident needs no explantion, description or defense.
We are all just trees in the forest, wolves in the pack, one of the
herd. Death is as inevitable as birth, each one no more or less
important than the other; each at any given instant stands at the
many crossroads of the future. But who will step into history and
walk before them for those yet behind.
