Nowadays, abortions, childbirth and D&C's are all done without anaesthetics
because the anaesthetic is more risky than the procedures
And Brian Brunner responds incredulously:
WHAT planet did this 'news' come from?
I have been with my wife at her side for 3 of the 5 childbirths she has had.
I will be there for the 6th in August.
Anaesthetics were used in all and will be used in this next one.
The question asked here:
Are medical procedures performed on Natives at the hands of US funded medics in
which anaesthetics are NOT offered, when said anaesthetics ARE offered for the
same procedures in medical establishments serving non-natives?
To be precise: When we talk to our ObGyn, we can say, "We want a subdural"
meaning spinal block anaesthetic, and we'll get it. If a Native, Inuit or
Lakota or Cherokee, at a reservation hospital, asks for a subdural for her
upcoming delivery, is she told no?
To continue precision: Our ObGyn talks with us about what options are available
in anaesthesia and delivery. These options include subdural, local, or no
anaesthetic. What options are routinely discussed at reservation medical
facilities across the US?
Waiting to hear.
