The Center for Understanding Aging (CUA) is seeking Native American
participation in its Annual Meeting to be held in Santa Fe during the
weekend of October 10, 1992.

CUA is a national organization whose members are people from various
fields who have joined forces to reverse patterns of ageism and ignorance
about aging and to strengthen bonds between generations. Our Annual
Meetings are small informal gatherings at which we seek to enter into
dialogue on new themes.

With the Columbus quincentenary, we're hoping to identify American
Indians in the Santa Fe area who might be interested in exploring with us
cross cultural patterns of aging, life transitions, and cross-generational
relations. The question guiding our discussions will be: "What might
American society's attitudes about aging and intergenerational relations
be if teachings of native cultures had been followed?" Our aim is to reach
back across the generations for guidance on shaping today's policies and
practices.
