David Mayberry-Lewis's 10-hour tv series, 'Millennium', is to be aired by
AUstralia's state- owned Special Broadcasting Service, beginning within a
few weeks. I understand that although the series goes out under the BBC's
name, in fact the Body Shop has had complete control over production. There
have been allegations that voiceovers on the series do not interpret the
words of speakers depicted. Can this be substantiated?

I have become aware of some dubious practices by the Body Shop and are
seeking further information:

1. Any information on The Body Shop's (TBS) relations with indigenous
peoples.
- nature of approach, interaction, acquisition of information or
products or raw materials

2. Does TBS share information with any other organisation or individual
whatsoever?
- who, and to what end?

3. Any information on industrial relations
- shop staff, manufacturing staff, other staff (interpreters,
anthropologists, etc.)?
- locations selected for establishment of factories and
shops/relations with local government, tax concessions, etc.

4. Relations with host governments, multinationals, missionary
organisations (e.g. SIL/WBT), etc.?

5. Any information on animal testing of products directly, by contract,
or otherwise

6. Any information on Mayberry-Lewis or Cultural Survival

Thanks very much,
