A couple items: 1 perhaps of interest; 2 asking for possible info.
1) An exciting event/exhibit re the Oneida and the Menominee Nations in
Wisconsin: on October 3,'92 there will be a POW-WOW (noon to 4 pm) just
outside the Neville Museum on the Fox River in Green Bay, WI. It honors the
Bear Clans exhibit at the Museum, a joint venture with a major exhibit. A
couple years ago a "similar" venture entailed a magnificent exhibit on
Wolves and Humans. I expect to have more info soon from a press release
packet, but for now two sources: Bobbi Webster [Oneida], (414) 869-4392, and
Verna deLeon [Menominee], (715) 799-5218.
2) Can anyone respond with further information, corroboration,
validation, etc. regarding one Godfrey Chips and/or Mary Louise Dow and an
article in a recent NEW AGE JOURNAL on Chips as a Medicine Man (descended
from Crazy Horse no less).
3) I would like to be able to contact one Carlotta Kauffman, sister to
the late John Kauffman. The latter created a powerful one-person play,
ACCORDING TO COYOTE, and his sister has continued it according to Nancy
Butterfield, a member of NAJA and Gannett columnist who recently wrote a
news release about the Kauffmans. Anyone have addresses/contact points,
performance locations/dates, ??
Thanks, Peace, and smiles :-) Jack
