The League of Indigenous Soverign Nations of the Western Hemisphere
was founded in Piscataway territory in May 1989. The goal of the
League is to unify all the Indian nations of the hemisphere under
a confederacy while retaining traditional forms of government,
religion, autonomy and sovereignty for each of the member nations.

The first step towards this goal is to gain international recognition
in the international arena as a sovereign people. Native Americans
are the only race in the world not represented in the United Nations.
To this effect, a rally in front of the United Nations building in
New York City has been organized for October 12, 1992, from 12 noon
to 5 pm. Indigenous representatives have confirmed attendance from
across the US and abroad, including a delegation of the Nahuat
nation of El Salvador.

Two buses will be leaving from New England; one from Boston and another
from New Haven CT. Indigenous people and supporters are encouraged to
attend. If you are interested please E-mail to me directly.
